Teaser Tuesday ~ 3/26/13

This is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading.

To participate you:
* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!
(Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I'm breaking all the rules this week.  I usually do but if may be more extreme this time.  This week's teaser comes from THIS...

If fate sent you an email, would you answer?

When teenage movie star Graham Larkin accidentally sends small town girl Ellie O'Neill an email about his pet pig, the two seventeen-year-olds strike up a witty and unforgettable correspondence, discussing everything under the sun, except for their names or backgrounds.

Then Graham finds out that Ellie's Maine hometown is the perfect location for his latest film, and he decides to take their relationship from online to in-person. But can a star as famous as Graham really start a relationship with an ordinary girl like Ellie? And why does Ellie want to avoid the media's spotlight at all costs?

He was almost to the end of the driveway when he heard the screen door bounce shut behind him, and then the sound of Ellie's bare feet on the pavement as she ran to meet him, shaking her head as she approached.

"I'm sorry--" she began, but  that was a far as she got, because Graham couldn't wait any longer.  He leaned in, his lips meeting hers, which tasted faintly of peanut butter, and he closed his eyes, and he held her by the shoulders, and he kissed her.

It was exactly as he'd thought it would be, like the first time and the millionth time all at once, like being wide awake, like losing his balance.  Only this time, it wasn't just him; this time, they were losing their balance together. (Kindle location 1826 or 4090)

So more than two sentences, yeah I know.  What can I say, I loved it and wanted to share the whole thing with ya.  What ya think?  Got a teaser for me?  Leave me a comment.

  1. Don't feel bad,I break the rules almost every week. I just can't seem to stick to two sentences. Anyway, loved the tease. So glad you didn't shorten it.
