Fall into Fantasy Hop #GIVEAWAY

When I think fantasy....I think URBAN FANTASY! That's my very favorite of the fantasy genres.  And I might be a little preoccupation with one certain Urban Fantasy series at the moment.  THAT would The Protector Series by M.R. Merrick.  Been planning the EPIC book tour for RELEASE coming up in December!  Check out the schedule for it and my reviews here.

Check it out on Goodreads

Should I make you all jealous by admitting that I've already read RELEASE?!?  It's true.  I have read it.  I liked Exiled a lot.  I loved Shift - so fabulous.  Then there is Release - which took this series to a whole new level!

So when I sat down to plan this giveaway, I couldn't help but choose this series!  I'm giving away the winners choice of any eBook from this series! INCLUDING Release.  If you choose Release, then you will get it December 10th.  There will be 2 winners.

  1. Ok, so I just talked to you on Twitter about this series and you've convinced me to read it and now your giving it away... I had to enter the giveaway to try and win book 1!
I love urban fantasy because well... its fantasy! It's a different world with different problems to fall into for a while. Urban fantasy is a lot of fun to read and always keeps me pulled in.
    Great giveaway!

  2. What I love about Urban fantasy is that they can be so out there but I still relate. No matter how much fantasy is added its still city life!

  3. I like that it's so connected and ingrained into everyday life. It's not set in some distant magical world but right here, right under our noses so to speak. That makes it more 'realistic' to me. And there's a part of me that still wishes, like a child, that magic could be real...
Great giveaway! I already won book 1 somewhere else (haven't gotten around to it yet, I need to catch up on NetGalley books) and it'd be great to win book 2. From what I've heard I already know I'm going to love the series!

  4. I have the first book on my Kindle Touch to-be-read-shelf!
I like that I can usually relate to the book I'm reading even if it's fantasy/urban fantasy! You have to be able to relate with the characters somehow for the book to be an excellent read. Urban fantasy is one of my favorite genres. I don't read that many contempories or realistic fictions. They are much to mundane for my tastes. Usually. There are exceptions though.
Thank you for the chance to win the sequel! :D

  6. Actually, I'm not very familiar with Urban Fantasy books, but I would love to get into that genre for I have heard so many people rave about them.

  7. I always enjoy a strong female character or two.

  8. I think the way the fantastical elements are incorporated into modern life. I hate it when the main characters go through the story refusing to believe the events happening around them. After a certain point I just want to scream at them.

  9. It has to be the characters for me, as it is for all genres. I'll read any type of book but I have to feel like I could know the characters.

Also, when I read Urban Fantasy books, I have to be able to buy into it on some level. I know they are fantasy BUT parts need to be believable so you are able to relate. :)

  10. I like urban fantasies that:
    1) the main characters have a history with the paranormal and the reader is thrown into the middle of it
    2) The characters grow and age with the series
    3) The main heroes weren't simply given their powers through a thunderbolt or a dream, etc, but had to work and gain their abilities through training and experience.

  11. I like how they mix the incredible/impossible/improbable with city life, be it past/present/future.

  12. I love urban fantasies where the hero is not completely dependent on their supernatural ability and they have a brain to think their way out of problems. I also like it when the world that the author creates makes sense and is amazing enough that I want to be there and live in it.

    A hot guy doesn't hurt either ;)

  14. Urban Fantasy is a new thing for me. I would like to read books from these genre

    ReplyDelete
  15. I love the way fantasy overlays reality....it's easy to fall into the world that way, instead of creating a whole new world

    ReplyDelete
  16. I love fantasy book... The world of fantasy is the best

    ReplyDelete
  17. I love urban fantasy because it's usually set in a place I'm somewhat familiar with so it's easier to relate to the novel. (the first thing that comes to mind is Mortal Instruments.) This series looks very exciting and I can't wait to win and read book 1. :)

  18. I need a strong female lead. I also like really good world-building, but not so much detail that I get bored.

  19. If I can see myself in the world the author has created and if I can relate or get attached to the characters.

  34. I am a character-driven reader in all genres, but I do love a kick-butt female character in urban fantasy and I also love that its' a world I recognize, but with something a little bit different.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm not sure what it is, all i know is that I like them.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I've never read an Urban Fantasy but I want to :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'm not sure what exactly all the fantasy genre's are, but I like any fantasy that is totally unbelievable in real life. I want to escape this life for a bit and delve into another world.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I like the fact that urban fantasies take place in familiar settings - very different from traditional fantasies (which I also adore, don't get me wrong!). For example, I read Suzanne Johnson's newest, Royal Street, which I absolutely LOVED, and the city of New Orleans plays such a huge role, it's basically a character itself. Fantastical things are happening, but she still talks about the post-Katrina devastation and actual locations in the city... I think even if you'd never been there, you'd still have a feel for how the city itself is so integral to the plot. That's the kind of thing I love about urban fantasies!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I like strong characters that makes you believe that what is fantastic, exists for real and you never doubt it.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I love it because it is a complete escape. It brings your whole imagination into play to be in it's world :)
    Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I love escaping to the world that the book is in and letting my imagination go to work, while I read :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. I've never been good at figuring out what genre certain books are. I read pretty much everything YA and some Adult and what I love most about Urban Fantasy is he supernatural element. I get visit an entirely new world and meet great characters...
Thanks for the great giveaway and for making it international!

Thank you so much for the giveaway fun :)

  44. The pace. If the pace is quick and it has a great opening hook then it holds my attention.

  45. Action is the name of the game. I love the combination of things I can relate to from my every day life combined with the fantasy world. Add in a good dose of action, and you have a winner!
