The Vincent Brothers by Abbi Glines ~ Plus Teaser Tuesday

Happy Book Birthday to
The Vincent Brothers!
(The Vincent Boys Book 2)
Available TODAY

In celebration of this fabulous release today, I have my TT from The Vincent Brothers & then my review to follow.  Check this Sawyer action out!!

"Eeeep, it's cold," she squealed and her hands squeezed my arms tightly.  Her full bottom lip quivered a little and I couldn't stop myself.  I'd made her wear a cold wet life vest because I was too much of a baby to pull out Ashton's.  The least I could do was warm her lips up.

She tensed the moment my mouth touched hers but only briefly.  Both her hands lid slowly up my arms and into my hair as I held her waist pulling her closer to me.  Pressing small innocent kisses on the corner of her mouth only wetted my appetite.  I took a small taste of her bottom lip and her mouth opened in a small gasp and I plunged ahead.  (Page 42 of ARC)

I know, you wanted me to plunge ahead as well - well as you can see I did break the 2 sentence rule by ..... a lot! Haha.  It's all good.  You need to read this book, peeps.  Let me know what you think of my teaser and where to find yours in the comments.

AND now.... my review.

Source: Received an ARC from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

My summary:

Sawyer Vincent had everything he ever wanted a few months ago.  Ashton was his. But no longer.  She belonged to Beau and while Sawyer had...um... not fought for her that didn't mean he didn't want her back.  It had been months, though, and it was time to move on.  A distraction, he needed to be distracted from seeing Ash in Beaus arms all the time.  Just such a distraction walks into his life when Lana, Ash's cousin, showed up for the summer.  And boy had she changed since the last time Sawyer had seen her- she was smokin' hot!!  He could have a summer fling then leave for college.  But Lana may have her heart set on more than a fling with Sawyer.  She's tired of being everyone's second choice.  While she's loved Sawyer for years, she hopes that he's over Ash and she can have a chance with him.  But is Sawyer over Ash and can Lana become more than just a distraction?

My Thoughts:

5 stars - LOVED my boy Sawyer <------ Yummy

Sawyer
So to prove my point, let me introduce you to Sawyer.  Yeah, that boy needs to be happy and that is NOT how this book starts.  Picking up a few months after The Vincent Boys, Sawyer is still struggling to deal with losing Ashton.  He avoids seeing them together and can't stop his jealousy.  My heart ached for him.  I already loved Ashton and Beau from the first book but didn't really know Sawyer very well.  I found that I loved him more than Beau.  His internal struggle seemed so real to me.  He made some very male decisions that he regretted almost immediately but his heart was real.

Lana was a very strong and, frankly, brave to go after Sawyer when she'd seen him love Ash their whole life.  Broken and pushed to second or third place by her family, Lana needed something more.  I was impressed with her willingness to understand and forgive.  It revealed just how strong her troubled life had made her.

The story is a clash between what these two think they want verses what they really feel.  I loved the dynamics of that clash.  Abbi does a brilliant job of giving us the yummy scenes mixed with the turmoil of actual hurting hearts.  It felt real for me.  It one point, I couldn't read fast enough to find out what was gonna happen.  I needed to see the resolution.  I raced through the last 1/3 of the book.  I've gone back and re-read parts just to soak up the yumminess that is reading an Abbi book.

If you've read The Vincent Boys, then this book needs to move to the top of your TBR list.  If you haven't had the pleasure, then get started on this fabulous two book series.
