Tempting the Best Man by J. Lynn ~ Review

Source: Purchased eBook for Kindle

This is 18+ adult fiction.

My Summary:

Madison not looking forward to her brothers up coming wedding.  Not because she doesn't love the bride and groom but because she really can't stand the thought of spending time around Chase - the best man.  As the maid of honor, she will have to spend time with him.  It might have worked since they grew up friends but four years ago something almost happened between them and well it's pretty awkward now.  That awkwardness intensives when an overbooking forces her sleeping arrangements to change.  But she will hold her head up and get through this and then go back to the city and stay away from him.  Yeah, that's gonna work just fine.

My Thoughts:

5 stars - Seriously yummy!

I've noticed since I've been on twitter that sometimes people say something meaning one thing and it's taken a totally different way.  Maybe the lack of body language and tone of voice has a high impact on our interpretation of what people mean.  Maybe it's the lack of a real fluid conversation that makes it happen.  But I do know one thing, it's exactly what happens between Madison and Chase in Tempting the Best Man.  In this case, I think it's the way men think verse the way women think but I loved the comparison as I read this book.  I kept wanting to shake both of them and say wait - did you hear what you just said? Now I had the advantage of being in both of their heads and so I knew what was really going on but I still wanted to educate them.

Under a different name but still the writing that I love, J. Lynn (JLA to the YA world) creates a seriously yummy book that I ate up in an afternoon. Her characters are fabulous as usual.  I love Madison.  The kid sister who fell for her brothers best friend, but grew up enough to not throw herself at him when his words tell her no.  I love Chase.  Growing up seeing his dad cheat on his mom, he's determined not to be his dad.  And he is so not his dad, uniformity the harder he tries not to be like his dad the more he ends up being like him.  Both of these characters needed to do some growing and the wedding setting was the perfect place for that to happen.

The story was fast passed with so much passion, it was impossible to put down.  It's a good thing I started it on a Sunday afternoon because only the house burning down was gonna get my attention away from this book.

If you love JLA and fabulous adult contemporary romance, then this one needs to move to the top of your TBR list.
