Predestined by Abbi Glines Review & GIVEAWAY

Source:  Received eBook from author in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Book 2 in the Existence Trilogy

My Summary:

Pagan lived through the car crash when death was supposed to claim her.  He just couldn't do it.  Death - Dank is in love with her.  But breaking heavens rules may have been the easy part because someone else has a claim on Pagan, someone dark even for death.  Dank will have to defy hell this time to keep his girl and hell may put up one hell of a fight.

My Thoughts:

4 stars - a great read

Spoilers if you haven't read book 1, Existence.

This sequel to my favorite Abbi book, Existence, has more action and a faster pace.  Predestined picks up right where Existence left off.  The trip to break things off with Leif never happens because he's disappeared.  But we quickly find out the soul-less Leif proves a bigger threat against Pagan than Dank first thought.  That has Dank struggling to catch up with the treat, a place he doesn't like to be.

I loved Dank - Dankmar in this book.  We get to read from his POV part of the time and I felt like I got to know him better.  Still struggling to deal with the emotions that Pagan brings out in him, he particularly doesn't like jealous.  He's so cute when he's jealous.  Loved seeing that.  He also thinks he's the biggest badest thing out there which is oh so cute.  There might be a few things that are about as bad - not that Dank is really bad.  Anyway, loved seeing from his POV and love Dank.

Another character I absolutely loved was Gee! She is freaking hilarious! I must share one quote that I really did laugh right our loud about!

"Deep breaths, Peggy Ann.  Take deep breaths.  Don't get his majesty over here raining down hell on all who get in his path because his girl is scared shitless." Page 21

Gee takes on the role of best friend to Pagan and I just loved it.  So much fun to have her watching your back.

Speaking of Pagan, she was fabulous too.  She had my all time fav quote from the whole book!

"Now it was after six and I swear my big intestines were eating my little intestines." Page 20

I enjoyed the relationship that Pagan and Dank have in this book.  There feelings are controlled only by a small problem of her soul releasing when they get too hot and heavy.  Can't have that but they do steal some steamy scenes.  Pagan struggles as she learns what claims her and faces her only choice with maturity and grace.  I as proud of her.

Leif was a paradox to me.  He was still sort of the sweet, kind guy from Existence but there was this other side of him that kept peeking out that Pagan needed to be afraid of.  He was an interesting character like I've never seen before.

There was a point where I wished for a little more struggle but I really liked the results so I'm happy.

If you read Existence, you so need to pick this one up SOON.  If you haven't seen this series before but love Paranormal romance, then this is a great series to start.  Abbi just gets romance right.

  37. That Pagan and Dank's relationship is moving forward and how Dank is feeling emotions that he hasn't felt before. We saw a little of this in Existence, my favorite being his growl when Pagan and Leif kissed, and I'm definitely looking forward to more of Dank and how he handles his new emotions.

  43. As everyone else said, I love the cover. That usually catches my eye 1st unless I know of the book beforehand.Besides, her eyes are the same color as mine also made me do a double take. The inside sounds unique, death falling in love with his next victim. A different concept of death is always interesting. The fact that I've heard good things about the series always helps too. Thanks for the chance to only have to buy 1 book. ;-)
