Teaser Tuesday

This is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading.

To participate you:

* Grab your current read
* Open to a random page
* Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!
(Make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
* Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My teaser this week is from my new current read, Hereafter, by Tara Hudson. I've been threatening to get to this book for a week and it's time.

"But instinct is a slippery thing, too -- ultimate and untrickable. My mouth opened and I breathed. And as I always did, except for the first time I'd experienced this nightmare, I woke up."

That was from page one. What do you think? Not much of a ghost story girl but I have heard a lot of good things about this book, so here goes.

Let me know your teaser or a link to it in the comments.

  1. I'm actually in the process of reading this along with two other books, as well. And I was going to use this as my Teaser Tuesday, I'm torn between this one and The Mephisto Covenant. lol. But, I love the teaser you used and I can't wait to dig a little more into this book. I don't have mine up yet, but it will be here in just a bit.

  2. "He had lived in an orphanage, fought in wars, crossed oceans by steamship and deserts on horseback, performed in circuses, knew everything about guns and self-defense and surviving in the wilderness, and spoke at least three languages that weren't English. It all seemed unfathomably exotic to a kid who'd never left Florida, and I begged him to regale me with stories whenever I saw him."

  5. Oooh, this one has been on my list for a while. I've heard good things! I'm looking forward to your review! I was actually disappointed by The Girl in the Steel Corset. :( It was good, but I was expecting great. Maybe my expectations were too high? Maybe steampunk isn't my thing. I don't know. I just finished, my review will be posted later this week! ~ Jen @ A Book and a Latte
