Swoon Thursday ~ 12/22/16 & Review

Who doesn't LOVE a good swoon?!  We love them for sure!  Check out our swoon below and then add to the fun.

Post anything that made you swoon, past or present read.  Include the cover, blurb and links.  Please no spoilers.

I just met the girl of my dreams.

Megan Davenport is funny and smart, and she’s as much of an insomniac as I am. She’s also my team captain’s little sister, which I only found out after our passionate kiss.

Megan is completely off-limits—her brother makes that very clear—and I know better than to think I can keep a relationship going during hockey season anyway. But that doesn’t mean we can’t be late-night friends, right?

The only problem is, love makes you do crazy things, like breaking all the rules.

Swoon...

I ran my hands up his firm shoulders and linked my fingers behind his neck, needing to hold on, wanting him even closer.
Stuttered breaths.  Lips and tongues.  Bodies pressed so tightly together that I could feel every hard inch of him. (Kindle Location 1643)

Love these two together.  They need each other but they also resist.  When will they learn?  Soon, I hope.

That's our swoon this week!  What about you?  Leave us a comment & a link.

I have really enjoyed this series.  A group of hockey players in college, all with struggles in their personal lives.  Dane is a character I had wondered about and I really wanted to get to know him.

And get to know him, I did.  He sets himself to a different standard than those around him.  He blames himself for so many things that aren't his fault and I frequently wanted to shake him.  But I also loved him.  He cares and he protects.  And while he did break the bro code by kissing his friends sister, it was before he knew she was his sister, though he still blames himself.  And he tried so hard to resist her after he learned the truth.  But these two can't resist each other because they are combustible together.

Megan wants a fresh start.  High school had been horrible for her and she's tired of being someone she isn't just to fit in.  Graduating early and leaving for the college where her brother is seems like a great way to get that fresh start.  And this time, she's gonna be who she is.  And the best part of this fresh start?  Meeting the boy that shares her insomnia.  They can share the night, right?

I enjoyed the story and the writing.  It's the type of book that you just want to keep reading to find out how things will play out.  Will the brother find out?  Will Dane allow himself a life?  Will Megan find herself?  Will the hockey team win?  All good questions and I enjoyed finding the answers.

It's a sexy read with hockey players and college students that will definitely have you reading into the night.

  2. I remember seeing this book on NetGalley! I never requested it, but it is on my TBR. Hockey has always been one of my favorite sports, and I love hockey/sports romances. This one sounds wonderful! Great swoon choice and review, Val. :D

    Happy holidays! =)
