An unforgettable new series from acclaimed author Katie McGarry about taking risks, opening your heart and ending up in a place you never imagined possible.
Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighborhood. Sure, she's curious about her biological father—the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent—but that doesn't mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns to an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both.
Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They're the good guys. They protect people. They're…family. And while Emily—the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club's most respected member—is in town, he's gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it's his shot at his dream. What he doesn't count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down.
No one wants them to be together. But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home.
I inch into her personal space and then gently back her up until she's supported against the trunk of a tree. Because I can't help myself, I rest a hand on her hip then step near enough so that our bodies are touching. This is how it's meant to be ---me this close to her. (Page 383)
So love this book. Releases 5/26. My review posts after that. It's different and yummy. You want this one.
This is Chase's POV from Taking Chances.
Chase Grayson has never been interested in having a relationship that lasts longer than it takes for him and his date to get dressed again. But then he stumbles into a gray-eyed girl whose innocence pours off her, and everything changes. From the minute Harper opens her mouth to let him know just how much he disgusts her, he's hooked.
But a princess deserves a Prince Charming who can make her dreams come true. Not a guy who can turn her life into a nightmare.
All good intentions go out the window when Harper starts to fall for the guy Chase has come to view as a brother. He wanted to protect her by keeping her away, but he can’t stand to see her with anyone else, and he’ll do anything to make her his. But when it comes down to Harper choosing between the two, will Chase have the strength to step back from the girl who has become his whole world if it means she’ll be happy?
Lines will be crossed. Friendships will be put to the test. And hearts will be shattered.
"I've never been happier than when I just woke up with you in my arms." I gently kissed all over her face before kissing her swollen lips. "You're the only girl I've ever fallen asleep with, and I want to keep it that way. You're not just some girl. I'm in love with you, Harper, I wouldn't want you anywhere else." And, God, I want you here forever.
I read Taking Chances a while ago, but am only now getting to Stealing Harper now because... well. I'm a Molly McAdams addict. So it's about time I read another one of her books. Plus, Trusting Liam is releasing soon, and I wanted this read before that comes out. And really... I just felt like it was TIME, ya know? Time to pick it up. Tear my heart out. YAY. But really, even though I know where it's going and it hurts my soul, this story is definitely worth the read.
