Bad enough Jade Frost's boyfriend drags her to a boring poker game. Even worse that he actually threw her into the betting pot during an intense round...and lost. Talk about the perfect excuse for Jade to make him her ex-boyfriend.

Now she supposedly belongs to the ultra rich, extremely gorgeous Shep Prescott. He could have anything he wants yet he seems to be in hot pursuit of her. No matter how rude, how snarky, how impossible she acts, it doesn't stop him. More like her horrible behavior seems to make him want her more.

When she finds herself starting to fall for him, Jade's confused. There's more to Shep than the carefree rich charmer he portrays. No way could he want a serious relationship with her...or could he?

Review...

The first book I ever read by this author was One Week Girlfriend and I loved it.  When I saw this series announced, I thought of Drew and that series.  I was hoping for the same love I found in that book and I wasn't disappointed.

Only this author can make a guy who wins a girl in a bet worthy of falling in love with.  I love Shep.  He's a player.  He's a rich bored guy with sucky parents and he feels girls only want him cause he's rich.  So he's willing to hook up and do the casual thing and no more.  Until Jade.  She challenges him.  She doesn't fall at his feet.  Her reaction to being WON?  Priceless!

Jade is feisty.  She has that red hair thing down.  But she also has some issues with her interactions with guys.  Things she thinks might be her fault.  She doubts her hot looks and she can't believe Shep is actually attracted to her.  Why does he want her?  Oh, he wants her alright and he's not above telling her too.

Together they are tortuous.  The chemistry is seriously hot but the interruptions stop things cold.  And the anticipation?  Yeah, it's killing everyone.  The thing is that the delays make these two better.  Shep needs it to see what he really wants.  He goes down resisting a relationship but he goes down.

And the story has an interesting turning point.  I wasn't expecting it when it happened and I liked that.  Certainly added to the feel of them being together in a different way than most romance books.

Something else I really enjoyed was the...dare I say couple time.  They might not have called it that but I will.  They had a lot of time to explore each other and to enjoy each other.  They were silly near the end with holding things back but I loved it.  And I really loved how and when the L word came up.

This series has the feel of that first series I loved by Monica Murphy and if you felt the same, you should give this one a try.

The series continues!
