Sweet by Tammara Webber ~ Review, Tour Stop & Giveaway

Source:  Received an eBook of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

He’s the love of her life, but he doesn’t know it.
She’s his one moment of sacrifice in a lifetime of survival.

He was damaged and wild, but resilient.
She’s always been obedient. Now she’s restless.

Home for the summer between college and med school, Pearl Torres Frank knows two things: Boyce Wynn is the embodiment of everything she should run from, and everything she wants to run to. Rebellious and loud. Unconcerned with society’s opinion of him. Passionate. Strong. Dangerous.

And one more trait he hides from everyone but her:

SWEET (Contours of the Heart #3) by Tammara Webber
NA Contemporary Romance

I hardcore LOVE the books this one is a spin-off of.  Easy and Breakable are on my all time favorites list.  The only thing I love more than reading these books is listening to them on audio.  So when I heard that Boyce Wynn was going to get his story, I was so excited.

This author gets New Adult stories.  She recognizes the pivotal time this is in someones life and she uses that to make some of the best stories I've ever read.  And this one is no different.

Boyce is the guy in Breakable that accepted Lucas (after a small fight, hehe).  He had Lucas' back and vice versa.  I thought he was funny and broken.  I really wanted him to get his girl.  And I knew who his girl was.  Pearl.  It could only ever be Pearl.  She needed to go to college and figure a few things out but somehow she knew it too.

But this isn't a simple story.  The important ones never are.  And that's what makes this one so good.  This author combines the characters I love and care about with a story that's complex and fully developed.  There are little details attended to and characters I want to slap silly.  There are good and bad things happening.  There are sweet sexy moments that I just want to get lost in and read over and over.  There is sacrifice and love in action.  There is the feeling that these characters could walk off the page and fill your house with the best party you've ever had.  (Except Mitchell - who I would kick out after I slapped him silly).

It's the kind of book I'd be happy to live in.  It's the kind of book I want re-read on a regular basis.  I'm so hoping this one makes it to audio because I really want to put it in line with Easy and Breakable on my re-read list.

Even if you haven't read Easy or Breakable, this is a great choice for your next read.  But you will love these characters so much that you will want more.  All of them.  Every single sentence.

Romance your thing?  Then don't miss this one.

About the Author:

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of EASY and BREAKABLE (Contours of the Heart series - NA), as well BETWEEN THE LINES, WHERE YOU ARE, GOOD FOR YOU and HERE WITHOUT YOU (Between the Lines series - YA/NA).

I'm a hopeful romantic who adores novels with happy endings, because there are enough sad endings in real life. Before writing full-time, I was an undergraduate academic advisor, economics tutor, planetarium office manager, radiology call center rep, and the palest person to ever work at a tanning salon. I married my high school sweetheart, and I'm Mom to three adult kids and four very immature cats.

  1. Nobody does new adult better than Tammara Webber, it is that simple. This book was sooo good and I absolutely devoured it. Could not agree more with your review. And yay for being review twins!

  2. ^Agree! I'm really picky on what I prefer with NA since my starting point was her books. Looking forward to this one.

  3. Wow! Excellent Review Val! I love when an author makes you feel like the characters could walk right off of the page! I agree, Ms. Webber knows how to right New Adult. A book you want to live in and re-read over and over again speaks highly about just how amazing this story was for you. I can't wait to read it!!!!

  4. Great review Val! I am glad that you enjoyed this spinoff. Good to see there are some issues for Boyce and Pearl to overcome. I hope I can get my hands on this one soon.
