Lux Readathon ~ August 5th ~ Opposition

It's FINALLY here!

Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.

She can't believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all.

Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.

They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.

War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.

To celebrate the release of Opposition, we have an open letter for Jennifer thanking her for this series.  Authors always put acknowledgements at the end of their books and we felt the need to put this stamp at the end of this series.

Open letter to JLA...

Dear Jennifer L. Armentrout,

The Lux series holds a special place in our hearts.  There are so many reasons for that.  The uniqueness of the story rates right up there as why.  The characters that invoke emotions in us is another reason.  Those unpredictable moments that both make us swoon and have us screaming is why too.  We want to thank you for giving us the Lux series and we hope we don’t forget anything.  You understand about that when you write your acknowledgments and hope to include it all.  We feel the same way.  We love it all and don’t want to leave anything out but here goes.

Thank you for bonus points.

Thank you for the laptop blowing up.

Thank you for lips that change lives.
Thank you for the cookie.

Thank you for secret moments in bathrooms.

Thank you for spaghetti.

Thank you for jealous characters.

Thank you for creepy children who just want to play.

Thank you for latte deliveries.

Thank you for Bart, Biff, or whatever his name is...or rather Daemon’s reaction to him.

Thank you for getting to know the hopes and dreams of every freckle.

Thank you for Christmas trees.

Thank you for the socks that are like mittens for the toes.

Thank you for lake visits.

Thank you for new laptops with red sleeves.

Thank you for Vegas and the White Chapel.

Thank you for references to books we adore.

Thank you for meme references and media mail packages.

Thank you for book haul videos with Daemon.

Thank you for “Hey Kitten…”

Thank you for the snuggles.

Thank you for the bucket loads of sweet moments.

Thank you for FEELS that make us happy, cry, swoon and scream!

Thank you for that sexy, arrogant Daemon Black.  His insistent protective nature, his sweet side, his humor, his sexy ways, his confidence, his passion, and mostly for making us believe that he is real. He’s the ultimate book boyfriend, and we’ll love him forever.

Thank you for Katy and her book loving ways.  You bring attention to the love of reading by letting a strong character be a reader and a blogger.  So love that she calls Daemon on his crap every time.  She never let him push her around and that is awesome.  Her strength and determination is so perfect for a female lead character.  Thank you so much for Katy.

Thank you for secondary characters that become just as important to us as the main ones do.  We love DEE, Adam, Luc, Archer, Dawson and so many more.  And we love to HATE a few of them too.  We HATE that Bilbo guy, Matthew and others that aren’t even important enough to mention but are, oh, so necessary.  You are a master at this.

Thank you for our favorite series that has given us all of the feels. That has made us laugh, cry, rage, and love so hard. A series that’s given us a place to escape in with characters we adore. And it will live on in re-reads FOREVER (though a spin-off would be WELCOME).

You are the best.  We love your books and you continue to be our favorite author.  You brought us together because it was the love of your books that caused us to meet.  And it was the Lux Readathon that brought Jess to StuckInBooks.  Now we are BFFs and co-bloggers and you are the reason. Thank you.

We love you,
Jess & Val
