So my book boyfriend for the week is

Lucas Maxfield!

(Prequel for Landon & Easy from Lucas' POV)

He was lost and alone. Then he found her.
And the future seemed more fragile than ever.

As a child, Landon Lucas Maxfield believed his life was perfect and looked forward to a future filled with promise — until tragedy tore his family apart and made him doubt everything he ever believed.

All he wanted was to leave the past behind. When he met Jacqueline Wallace, his desire to be everything she needed came so easy…

As easy as it could be for a man who learned that the soul is breakable and that everything you hoped for could be ripped away in a heartbeat.,%201

He's fierce and protective

She screamed.  Once, cut off abruptly.

I stopped dead.  And then I ran.

I've rarely allowed my temper free rein in the past three or tour years, because I know too well the potential consequences of doing so.  But when I saw his body on top of hers across the seat of her truck and heard her sobbing, begging him to stop, I lost it.  No amount of self-restraint would have prevented the outcome--assuming I'd been inclined to calm myself.

I wasn't.  (Page 58)

He's sensitive

"You okay?"

In her eyes, I red her recognition of this recurrent question, and I hated myself for constantly reminding her of that night, even if that was the last thing I wanted to do.  (Page 101)

He's in love

For the seconds Jacqueline and I stared at each other, Heller's voice receded and everyone else in the room disappeared.  I couldn't return to Aziz's project, or recall the mass of ideas swirling through my brain one minute ago.  My past evaporated.  My future plans blurred.  Every cell in my body was aware of her, and her only. His kisses are sexy

She said okay.
I dropped the pad onto Jacqueline's floor and pressed her to the mattress, carefully, but with no hesitation, the tips of my fingers tracing the pale veins at her wrists.  Her heartbeat  vibrated under my fingertips, ticking almost double the count of seconds in a minute.  My fingers followed those blue trails until they vanished into the crook of her elbows, her skin too fragile and soft to be real.

"You're so beautiful." I may have spoken the words aloud or inside my head.  I wasn't sure which.

My lips closed over hers, more carefully than I'd ever kissed anyone. (Page 178)

He's tatted

I felt her hand on the bare skin of my abdomen just before she leaned up on one elbow and asked to see my tattoos.

When I found that she' unbuttoned my flannel shirt without my notice, I laughed softly and her cheeks flushed a rosy.  Chucking the shirt, I pulled the thin thermal I'd worn underneath over my head and tossed it aside, too, reclining and letting her eyes and fingers peruse the ink beneath my skin. He draws

"I could sketch you now," I said, and grabbed my sketchpad from my backpack as if it was a life preserver, meant to save me from drowning.  I slid the pencil from behind my ear, balancing the pad on my crossed knee, and leaned back to look at her.  She flushed like she could read my thoughts.
