Savor (Billionaire Bachelors Club, #3) by Monica Murphy ~ Tour Stop, Review, Giveaway, Character Interview

Meet Matt from Savor!

Character Interview

Hey Matthew, thanks for agreeing to talk to me. Do you prefer Matthew or Matt?

I’ll answer to both but we’re all friends here right? So please, call me Matt.

So, a vineyard huh? How did that happen?

*sighs* Blame my friends. Archer had been raving for a while about how great the Napa Valley is. Gage is in real estate and was constantly pushing me to look for an investment, especially after I got injured and had to quit pro baseball. It just seemed like the next logical step. And rather than be an investor who really doesn’t deal with the business he invests in beyond the money aspect, I decided to be hands on. I got myself in deep pretty quick.

Don’t regret it though. Not one bit.

Bryn is your assistant. What were you thinking there?

I was thinking with my…other head? Ha. Seriously, I tried to resist. At first, I didn’t even really see her beyond the efficient Bryn. Then as I got to know her, I realized I liked her. I could see she was pretty but then Ivy and Marina took her for that makeover and…damn.

So yeah. I wasn’t thinking. Not at all. Glad it worked out though.

Can you describe Bryn in 5 words for me.

She’s:

Intelligent
Efficient
Loyal
Beautiful
Hilarious

Tell me something about Bryn that we don’t learn in the book.

I mentioned above that she’s hilarious and she really is. Once she let her guard down with me completely, I found out she has a wicked sense of humor. She keeps me laughing.

What about you, something we don’t learn about you in the book.

I like to cook. And now I’ve turned into one of those guys who likes to match my wine with my meal. Yeah, go ahead and make fun of me. Archer and Gage already do but I’m secure in my masculinity.

Now, about this bet? WTH?

Um, we’re stupid? I’m the one who threw down the challenge in the first place because I figured those two idiots I call my friends would back down. Instead, they went off and fell in love, leaving me the last one standing. Then we modified the bet which was stupid and…yeah. You want to know what we eventually did? We all pitched in equally one million dollars and donated it to our favorite charity.
If you could spend the perfect day with Bryn, what would you do, where would you go?

I would lock her up in our bedroom and keep her in my bed naked. All day. All night. I don't need to go anywhere and do anything as long as I have a naked Bryn with me.

If you could have one wish, no questions asked, what would it be?

To have a better relationship with my father. I’d give anything to have that but yeah…not gonna happen.

If you could go back in time and change one thing, what would it be?

I should’ve pursued Bryn harder the night of the winery’s reopening. Yeah yeah, I know you’re going to think, why the hell would you do that? But I should’ve. I should’ve made her mine early on. We wasted a lot of time to get to this point.

Randomness:

M&M or skittles? Skittles. Taste the rainbow.
Burger or steak? Uh…both?
Mountains or ocean? Ocean
Day or night? Night
Brown or Blue eyes? Blue
Blond or brown hair? Brown
iPod or streaming? Streaming
DVD or movie theater? DVD

Thanks for talking to me Matt. Think I’ll steal a hug.

Oh you don’t have to steal the hug, Valerie. I’m giving them away for free. Just don’t tell Bryn. She’s not the jealous type but you never know…

Thanks for having me!

New York Times bestselling author Monica Murphy concludes her sexy Billionaire Bachelors Club series with a fiery romance that refuses to be left at the office…

Bryn James can’t take much more. Smart, sexy Matthew DeLuca is everything she wants in a man, but he’s also her boss—the youngest, hottest vineyard owner in the Napa Valley—and he doesn’t see her as anything more than his shy assistant. That’s all about to change. Armed with a hot new look and an attitude to match, Bryn is determined to catch Matt’s eye… professionalism be damned.

With his winery’s grand reopening approaching, Matt is trying to stay focused, but Bryn is suddenly making it very difficult. He’s always thought her prim demeanor effortlessly sexy, but Matt can’t deny that her transformation is jaw-dropping …and going to make it very difficult to keep his hands to himself.

But when one thing leads to another and suddenly Matt is stripping Bryn bare, he’ll be faced with the biggest risk of his career—and his heart. Can he convince her—and himself—that this might just be more than a no-strings office affair?

My Thoughts

3 stars - Matt's yumminess makes this an enjoyable read

First Impression...I completely loved the first book in this series, Crave.  I was so excited for Matt's story.  He started the bet, after all.

The Story...Bryn works for Matt.  Bryn has a bad history with falling for the guy she works for.  She needs to not do that again.  So she hides behind loose boring clothes and does her job.  But she really wants Matt.  He loves her scent and when Ivy insists the clothes change, he can't keep his hands off her.  I really love to watch two people resist chemistry.  It's totally fun.  The thing is that the reason they were resisting seemed pretty thin to me.  Just felt that needed to be more substantial.  I would have liked a little more from the ending as well.  A few little details that didn't really get explained left me sad.

The Characters...I love Matt.  He's afraid to be his father and I don't blame him.  The guys a jerk.  So he's trying very hard to do the right thing and not get involved with his assistant.  But he can't resist her.  I so love to watch a guy try to resist.  I struggled with Bryn.  I get that she doesn't want to be what everyone thought she was back home but she waffles, a lot.  I wanted to shake her a few times.  Guess that means she got to me emotionally, which is good.

The Writing...I enjoy Monica's writing style.  There were a few places I wished there was more details but overall I enjoyed that part.

Could I Put it Down...Depends.  There were parts I didn't want to put down and so I didn't.  I read it in two evenings.  But there were a few parts where I could and did put it down.

In The End.. I enjoyed it.  It's a quick read and I wanted the rest of the story.  I had hoped to know what happened from the bet in this story but Matt told us in the character interview.  I also expected some progress in Gage's relationship but that didn't happen either.  Despite that, I enjoyed Matt's story and would recommend it to anyone who's been enjoying this series.  It's a great contemporary romance.
