Cover Reveal _ A Little Too Much by Lisa Desrochers

Available 11/12/13

In the follow-up to Lisa Desrochers’ explosive New Adult novel A Little too Far, Alessandro Moretti must face the life he escaped and the girl he loved and left behind.

Twenty-two year old Hilary McIntyre would like nothing more than to forget her past. As a teenager abandoned to the system, she faced some pretty dark times. But now that’s all behind her. Hilary has her life on track, and there’s no way she’ll head back down that road again.

Until Alessandro Moretti—the one person who can make her remember—shows up on her doorstep. He’s even more devastatingly gorgeous than before, and he’s much too close for comfort. Worse, he sees right through the walls she’s built over these last eight years, right into her heart and the secrets she’s guarding.

As Hilary finds herself falling back into love with the man who, as a boy both saved and destroyed her, she must decide. Past or future? Truth or lies?

Catching Liam by Sophia Bleu ~ Review

Source:  Received an eBook copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Twenty-one year-old Jillian Nichols only has one rule when it comes to boys: catch and release. Boy-catching isn't just a game for Jillian and her friends, it's a lifestyle. After all, boys might be good for a dance or a drink and certainly a little under-cover action of the scandalous variety, but expect much else and you're bound for heart ache.

So when her best friends and fellow boy catchers start dropping like flies junior year, Jillian is determined to keep boys in her bedroom and out of her heart. Until she meets Liam McAvoy, the kind of guy that sticks around to make waffles and who can't—or perhaps won't—take a hint.

Study abroad student Liam doesn't want to be another notch on Jillian's bedpost. Actually he has much more interesting ideas for Jillian and her bedposts, but his student visa's set expiration date means he can't promise her forever. That doesn't mean he's going to walk away from the challenge of discovering why Jillian is hell-bent at keeping people at a distance.

Before long, neither is sure who is catching who—or if they're playing for keeps. Jillian knows one thing though: falling in love will not only break the only rule of boy-catching, it could also break her heart.

My Thoughts:

3 stars - Who can resist a waffle making Scotchman?

This book starts fast and interesting.  Jillian is a catch and release girl but she has her reasons.  She believes a relationship will never work with her long-term.  I understand her reason, though I don't agree with it.  She has some other reasons for being a bit of a B.  Her mother for on is a piece of work.  My mama claws were out and I wanted to swipe her mom a good one.  Luckily, she has some great friends that support her.  And she has Liam.

Liam is this sexy guy with an accent who makes waffles, naked.  Should I continue?  No need, I know, but I will.  He is the sweetest guy ever.  Refusing to take Jillian's get lost attitude, he insists on staying caught.   I may not have understood what drew him to her, though.  The night they met and he gets "caught" by her is not in the book.  I kinda missed reading that.  I think it would have given me some insight into why Liam wouldn't let go of Jillian.  I'm glad he didn't let go because their feeling develop deeply around some yummy sexy scenes.  I loved watching Jillian figure out why a relationship wasn't out of the question as long as it was with Liam.

The book was fast paced and I read it in an evening.  I did have a few issues with timing.  Some times the amount of time a scene took didn't make sense for the about of time that went by.  It was easy to over look but I do think a good editing could make this book so much better.

This is an interesting take on the New Adult genre.  One little quirk, that I won't tell, makes it stand out from the rest.  If you like NA and want to meet the sexy waffle maker, then you should pick this one up for sure.

About the author:

I like coffee. A lot. Writing gives me time to go get a cup without my kids. I like books as much as I like coffee, but it is easier to read with children hanging on you than drink coffee due to the threat of third degree burns. That's why coffee gets top billing in my intro: its unattainability.

I hold a Masters in English with a specialization in 18th century women's studies. While this is a highly marketable area of expertise, I stay home with my kids, which means my 3 year-old son uses correct grammar and doesn't burn down the house.

I have a ridiculously supportive husband who dreams of being included on a book jacket: "The author lives in Kansas with her husband, two children, and a Tuesday cat."

Celebration with Angeline Kace!

Welcome to a month long celebration!

What am I celebrating?

This!

And it's gone up since then!

SO, I'm celebrating!

All month I will be posting interview and featuring books from some of my favorite authors!

Of course, there will be a HUGE giveaway to go along with it!
For every author that participates, I will add one of their books to the giveaway.  Every book will have a winner! This will be BIG!

Who do I have today?

Angeline Kace!

I’m celebrating passing 700,000 page views on Stuck In Books and I’m so happy you’re here with me for that.

OMG! I am soooo excited to be here! Over 700,000 page views! That is unreal! Amazing! You are a ROCK STAR, Val! Wow! Congratulations!

Hope you don’t mind me being silly with you for a bit.  Gotta have some fun, ya know.  Does it make me strange that I want to celebrate with authors?  It’s a bookish thing.

Hahaha! No, it means you’re awesome and brilliant! And silly is always fun! J

When you want to celebrate something fabulous, what do you do?

I think I have a problem because I’m realizing I don’t celebrate as much as I probably should. And I never go very big, either. I mostly just go to a movie or dinner. Something simple, and then get right back to work. I need to rectify this. If you have me over your 1 million page views, I will have something better for this question.

My celebrating beverage is Coke Zero. I know, I’m weird.  What’s your celebrating beverage of choice?

Dairy Queen has this thing called a Midnight Truffle shake. Not technically a beverage, but it has milk and stuff in it, so I think I can sneak it in. It’s delicious. Chocolate. And Truffles. And creamy. And chewy. I think I need one now. lol

I tend to hang out at parks with my one-year-old grandson for celebrations.  Where is your celebration destination of choice?

Aww, that is so cute, Val!

I like to hang out with my family too. Just at someone’s house with everyone together. That would be my destination of choice—where my family is.

I might get stuck in a book to celebrate.  Who am I kidding; of course that’s how I celebrate.  (Buying a book is the best kind of celebration!) What was the last book you got stuck in?

It has been such a long time since I have read a book cover to cover. Much too long. The last one that sucked me and I read in like a day was Beauty from Pain by Georgia Cates. Such a great book.

New adult books have become my new love.  Do you have a genre that you prefer to read or write over all others?

Right? I am LOVING New Adult! That is really the majority of the books I have read for a while now. I am almost ashamed at how long it’s been since I’ve read a paranormal book that wasn’t for a beta read. And I just finished Wicked Thing not too long ago, and I seriously had such a blast writing it!

If you had to re-write the three little pigs or the three bears into a new adult book, which would you choose and how would you do it?

The three bears, but instead of Daddy, Momma, and baby bear, they’d be brothers. The first would belong to a motorcycle club, the second to an Ivy League university, and the third would be a world traveler. Goldilocks would end up with one of them and then the next two brothers would get their own books! ;)

You’re building the perfect ice cream sundae to share with one character from one of your books.  What’s on the sundae and who are you sharing it with? Yeah – you need to explain your choice.

Oh my gosh! This is more difficult than I ever imagined. The obvious answer should be Mirko, but I’ve fallen in love with Dallas—HARD—over the past couple of months. I think I’m going to have to go with…Dallas.

*Hides*

He’s just so hot. And tattooed. And rough on the outside, but sweet and adorable and romantic on the inside. Plus he’s the tortured artist in a hot, works-with-hot-metal to create his art sort of way. ;)

I really think this sundae is going to have to include mint-chocolate ice cream. And fudge drizzled on top. And those Keebler Grasshopper cookies for a chocolaty crunch. Not something I’d normally go for, but when I thought of ice cream with Dallas, I had to go with this. And now I want some. With Dallas. J

You woke up in the middle of one of your books but things aren’t unfolding as you thought.  Which character has sabotaged the story and how will you convince them to fix it?

Most likely Mirko, but not because he’s reckless, but more because he knows a better way to have the events go down. He’s much smarter than I am. Plus, he’s all badass in strategic stuff. I might try to fight him on it for a little bit, but I’m pretty sure in the end, I’d be the one convinced to let him fix it.

You know my good news, what’s yours?  (What’s the new book/project you got going or any other thing you’d like to share with peeps).

The news I’m most excited about is that Wicked Thing releases on September 26th! OMG! That is soo soon. I am beyond thrilled to see what you all think of Dallas and Carmyn.

Thank you sooo much for having me on, Val! I am still in awe over your page views. That is amazing!

Now I’m off to find some Grasshopper cookies! COOKIES!!!!!

Angela Corbett

As a child, Angela Corbett’s most prized possession was a set of read-along books. She used to follow along with the narrator on the stereo and dream of when she would be able to read by herself. Her childhood reading habit led her to consider her future career. However, after consulting with her parents, she realized she had already exceeded hobbit height and since fairies and dragonslayers were tricky jobs to get, she decided she wanted to create worlds of her own. She started writing poetry in elementary school and worked as a journalist in high school and college, but could never leave her love for writing fiction behind.

She is a graduate of Westminster College where she double majored in communication and sociology. She has worked as a journalist, freelance writer, and director of communications and marketing. She loves classic cars, traveling, and escaping in a good book. She lives in Utah with her incredibly supportive husband and their five-pound Pomeranian, Pippin, whose following of fangirls could rival Justin Bieber’s.

Eternal Starling is her debut novel and the first book in the Emblem of Eternity trilogy.
