Price of a Kiss by Linda Kage

*new adult romance*
**explicit scenes and language**

I don’t care what my cousin says; I am not the queen of impossible relationships. I mean, just because my last boyfriend tried to kill me and left a bit of a scar on my neck, then forced me to move across the country and legally change my name to Reese Randall to escape him, does not mean—

Oh, who am I kidding? For a freshman in college, I have to have the worst dating track record ever.

It’s no wonder love is the last thing on my mind when Mason Lowe enters my life. But the chemistry between us is like bam! Our connection defies logic. And he’s just so freaking hot. Being around him makes me feel more alive than I’ve ever felt before. I even like bickering with him. He could be my soul mate...except for one teeny tiny glitch.

He's a gigolo.

Boy, do I know how to pick them.

My Thoughts:

5 stars - I fell for both Mason and Reese in this one!

My trying to gather my thoughts about his book and all I can think of is Mason.  The prologue to the book tells his story.  He's been forced into what's he's doing to provide for his mother and sister.  He's been taken advantage of by adults who should have know better.  He brings my mama claws out - I want to swat those be-ot-ches away from him!  He's treated like a piece of meat, a tainted whore and I wanted to kick some serious backside for him.

Luckily he meets Reece and she's up for the job.  This is one of those time....those wonderful times...when I love the girl as much as the boy in the book.  Reece has this snarky, sarcastic sense of humor that I so love.  Her curiosity comes pouring out of her mouth before she can stop it.  Hehe. She made Mason smile.  He believed he wasn't good enough for her but they were a perfect fit.

Did I tell you that I totally loved Mason.  Yes, maybe I did but it's worth saying again.  I loved the banter between these two.  I loved their efforts to deal with their horny "guy" hormones.  I loved how strong both of them were.  Both trying to protect the other.  Both rescuing the other.  Both loving the other.

The story drew me in and I had the hardest time putting it down for bed.  I had to read it over a couple of night because of work, but I so wanted to just read it straight through.  I wanted to cuddle/hug both of them.  They so needed it.

This is a great New Adult read where there really are equally matched and saving each other.  I laughed, I smiled (a lot) and I enjoyed.

Quotes:

Um...are you READY for Mason?  Are you sure?  You will be leaving this page to go find his book and dive in!

He glanced up and his lips quirked with amusement.  "You got a little something."  Stepping closer, he reached out and gently rubbed his thumb slowly--oh, my God, so agonizingly, deliciously slowly--over the corner of my lip.  When he withdrew his hand, there was a dab of pink frosting on his finger.

Feeling a little breathless and dazed, I flicked out my tongue to the spot where I could still feel an echo of his touch.  I was tempted to dip up a finger full more of frosting straight off the top of the cake and intentionally smear it all over my mouth just so he'd touch me like that again.  But I was a good girl.  Drawing in a shuddering breath, I watched him stick his thumb into his mouth and suck the icing away.

Dear God. (Kindle Location 2618)

More?  Oh, okay.  More Mason.

He wrapped me in his arms and snuggled with me, talking about trivial things like Harry Potter, and lattes, and college, and spiders, and our futures.  We drew on each others hands with our fingers and guessed what pictures we'd made.  We tried to have a thumb war under the covers....with our toes.  Then we lay in tranquil silence, holding hands and listening to our breaths slow until we both fell into a dreamless oblivion. (Kindle location 3631)

Maybe just ONE more.

"...You're the good part in all of this."  two steps later, he was all up in my grill in a very pleasing, overwhelming, I-couldn't-breathe-I was-so-excited way.  But it was so, yeah, overwhelming, I moved back, only to find myself trapped between him and that wall.

"You're the warm sun that shines when everything else is dark," he went on, lifting his hands to rest them on the wall on either side of my face.  "A smile and a hug in a roomful of disapproval.  You're..." Wincing, he pressed his forehead against mine.  "You're everything." (Kindle Location 3293)

Yes, I know you WANT more.  READ the book!  I didn't even get to the being woke up to a full body massage and his wicked ways.  This book is sexy, misunderstood, loving, protective, kind, determined, and little misguided.  He's absolutely yummy and a perfect book boyfriend.  Check this boy out!
