Celebration with M.R. Merrick!

Welcome to a month long celebration!

What am I celebrating?

This!

And it's gone up since then!

SO, I'm celebrating!

All month I will be posting interview and featuring books from some of my favorite authors!

Of course, there will be a HUGE giveaway to go along with it!
For every author that participates, I will add one of their books to the giveaway.  Every book will have a winner! This will be BIG!

Who's up today?

M.R. Merrick!

I’m celebrating passing 700,000 page views on Stuck In Books and I’m so happy you’re here with me for that.

Hope you don’t mind me being silly with you for a bit.  Gotta have some fun, ya know.  Does it make me strange that I want to celebrate with authors?  It’s a bookish thing.

When you want to celebrate something fabulous, what do you do?

Usually I organize some kind of outing that involves the beverage stated below, starting with dinner and more than likely, after a few drinks there would be karaoke…

My celebrating beverage is Coke Zero. I know, I’m weird.  What’s your celebrating beverage of choice?

An ice cold Miller!

I tend to hang out at parks with my one-year-old grandson for celebrations.  Where is your celebration destination of choice?

I don’t have a specific place. I like to mix it up and try new things, so if there is a new restaurant or something in town, I’d more than likely head there.

I might get stuck in a book to celebrate.  Who am I kidding; of course that’s how I celebrate.  (Buying a book is the best kind of celebration!) What was the last book you got stuck in?

I fell into The Maze Runner series earlier this year, and I really enjoyed that. Most recently I’ve started The Ocean at the End of the Lane, but it’s too early to say I’m stuck.

New adult books have become my new love.  Do you have a genre that you prefer to read or write over all others?

Definitely Fantasy, specifically, Urban Fantasy. I like the merging of the world I know with the darkness from my imagination.

If you had to re-write the three little pigs or the three bears into a new adult book, which would you choose and how would you do it?

The three little pigs. There’d be way more violence, and that wolf would get totally cut up by the family-run pig gang who also each possess a super power, ie. The Piggy Foot Stomp Blast.

You’re building the perfect ice cream sundae to share with one character from one of your books.  What’s on the sundae and who are you sharing it with? Yeah – you need to explain your choice.

Hot fudge, marshmallow, and Caramel. I’m sharing it with Rayna because one, she’d be way better to hang out with than anyone else. That, and I’d feel strange sitting across the table and sharing a sundae with one of the boys…

You have woke up in the middle of one of your books but things aren’t unfolding as you thought.  Which character has sabotaged the story and how will you convince them to fix it?

Vincent has screwed up everything by trying to make sure he’s font and center, causing a mountain of issues for Chase and Rayna. It’s early enough in the story that his feelings for Rayna will be the antidote, and Rayna will talk him off the ledge and put things back in line.

You know my good news, what’s yours?  (What’s the new book/project you got going or any other thing you’d like to share with peeps).

Right now I have two projects on the go. The first is a new Urban Fantasy series titled The Nova Chronicles, and I’m also working on a Dystopia type novel (not sure if it will be a series yet), but it’s pretty early in the game and I’m not entirely sure what’s happening with that yet, but it’s dark, edgy, and fun so far. Looking to have one of those two books out this Fall, which means I need to go and get my writing butt in gear! Thanks, Val, and congratulations on some well-earned accomplishment!

Thanks Matt!

Chase Williams is a demon hunter in the Circle, or at least he was supposed to be. On his fifteenth birthday, Chase stepped up to the altar to claim his elemental power, but it never came. Elemental magic is passed down to a hunter through the bloodline, but on Chase's birthday, the bloodline stopped.

Exiled without the Circle's protection, Chase has spent two years trying to survive a world riddled with half-demons and magic. When he has a run in with a frightened and seemingly innocent demon, he learns the Circle's agenda has changed: the Circle plans to unlock a portal and unleash pure-blood demons into the world. Vowing to stop them, and knowing he can't do it alone, Chase forms a reluctant alliance with Rayna — a sexy witch with an attitude and a secret.

In their attempt to stop them, Chase and Rayna find themselves in the middle of the Circle's plan, leaving one of them to decide what their friendship is worth, and the other's life depending on it.
