Celebration with M. Leighton

Welcome to a month long celebration!

What am I celebrating?

This!

And it's gone up since then!

SO, I'm celebrating!

All month I will be posting interview and featuring books from some of my favorite authors!

Of course, there will be a HUGE giveaway to go along with it!
For every author that participates, I will add one of their books to the giveaway.  Every book will have a winner! This will be BIG!

Today I have M. Leighton celebrating with me!

Welcome, Michelle!

I’m celebrating passing 700,000 page views on Stuck In Books and I’m so happy you’re here with me for that.

Hope you don’t mind me being silly with you for a bit.  Gotta have some fun, ya know.  Does it make me strange that I want to celebrate with authors?  It’s a bookish thing.

When you want to celebrate something fabulous, what do you do?
Eat.  And drink.  Really, the only way it differs from any other day is in quantity. hehehe

My celebrating beverage is Coke Zero. I know, I’m weird.  What’s your celebrating beverage of choice?
Margaritas!  I love, love, love margaritas!  One day, I fully intend to have one too many, don a giant sombrero and do the Mexican hat dance.  Right in the middle of the restaurant.  I will, of course, run quickly away afterward, but still… at least I will have done it;-)

I tend to hang out at parks with my one-year-old grandson for celebrations.  Where is your celebration destination of choice?
Hmmm, that’s an excellent question.  I don’t really have a “tradition” or a “ritual” place that I go.  I’m the type that likes to take the celebration with me, wherever that may end up.  God help the patrons if it’s a place elderly people like to go:-D

I might get stuck in a book to celebrate.  Who am I kidding; of course that’s how I celebrate.  (Buying a book is the best kind of celebration!) What was the last book you got stuck in?
The Hunger Games.  Like, a month ago.  *cringes*  Please don’t throw anything at me!  I know it took me forever to break down and read it, but when I’d turn on my Kindle, the odds weren’t ever in its favor.  *snorts*  But I’m so, so glad I finally did it!

New adult books have become my new love.  Do you have a genre that you prefer to read or write over all others?
To read, it would be historical romance.  To write, it would totally depend on my mood. I’m a very impulsive person, and I carry that with me into my writing.  I also have a terrible case of AADD (Author’s Attention Deficit Disorder).  Something might strike my fancy one day and the next day, I’ll be writing a book about it.  I’m a weirdo:-) hehe

If you had to re-write the three little pigs or the three bears into a new adult book, which would you choose and how would you do it?
I would choose the bears.  I mean, seriously, Goldilox is a gorgeous, innocent blonde who stumbles upon three manly men, er, I mean bears in her bed.  That’s got HAWT written all over it. Bahahahahaha

You’re building the perfect ice cream sundae to share with one character from one of your books.  What’s on the sundae and who are you sharing it with? Yeah – you need to explain your choice.
Oh boy!  The Sunday would have vanilla bean ice cream drizzled with Jack Daniels, and it would be topped with whipped cream and a cherry.  Of course, Cash would be dining on me.  Oh, wait, I mean I’d be dining WITH Cash.  Yeah, that’s what I meant.  *nods*  *winks*

You have woke up in the middle of one of your books but things aren’t unfolding as you thought.  Which character has sabotaged the story and how will you convince them to fix it?
Ginger.  She’s the ultimate cougar and she’s taken all the hot men for herself.  To convince her to give them back to their rightful women (in this case, that would be “woman” and that woman would be me), I would trade her two future hot men, dedicated to the 24-hour enjoyment of her body, a case of vodka, a membership at Badd Kitty sex shop, and a shopping spree at Neiman Marcus. I’m pretty sure she’d find that irresistible.

You know my good news, what’s yours?  (What’s the new book/project you got going or any other thing you’d like to share with peeps).
Eeeeeeeeeeeeee *bounces around*  Well, let me first congratulate you on YOUR good news.  It’s amazing to see your success, but I’m not at all surprised by it. You are widely beloved and this is proof. I’m happy to have found your blog and even happier to have found YOU!

As for my news, book 3 in the Bad Boys series comes out September 3rd.  I may or may not be running around my house squealing for the next few weeks.  Okay, I may. Okay, okay!  I am!  hehe

Thanks, girl!

AND here is that book that she is releasing TODAY!

When it comes to passion this hot, it’s all or nothing.

Olivia Townsend’s wealthy cousin Marissa had everything a girl could ask for—a great job, a privileged life, and all the friends she wanted. Or, at least, all the friends money could buy. But one case of mistaken identity has turned her privileged world upside down.

An abduction gone wrong lands her right in the lap of the sexiest, most dangerous man she’s ever met. To Marissa, he’s an enigma, but one to whom she’s irresistibly, inexplicably drawn.

With him comes a new world of freedom and passion, of dark shadows and dangerous secrets, a world where nothing is what it seems—except for the blind passion that Marissa can’t escape—or maybe even survive.

About the author:

I was born and raised in the United States, and I’ve lived in several of the fabulous fifty. Though I currently live in the deep South, I spent much of my childhood up North and hope to return there one day. A few other things about me: I believe that sometimes you have to look really, REALLY hard to find the good in people, but it's there. I believe that I'm shrinking (I swear five years ago I was two inches taller). I believe my husband is quite possibly one of the most amazing men in the entire world (I can't be sure because I haven't met all of them). I believe coffee and chocolate, when combined, could be the basis for world peace. I believe that Jesus rocks and communism doesn’t. I believe that white makes me look fat and black collects lint. I believe summer's too hot, winter's too cold and fall was made for football. I like dogs better than cats and the first movie in a trilogy is invariably the best. But most of all, I believe that love conquers all.
