Book Description:

New Adult Contemporary Romance

**Mature situations and sexual content - recommended for ages 17+**

Temporary. That one single word best describes my life these last few years. I’m working at a temporary job until I can finally break free. I’m my little brother’s temporary mother since our mom doesn’t give a crap about either of us. And I’m that temporary girl all the guys want to get with because I give it up so easily. According to the rumors, at least.

But now I’m the temporary girlfriend of Drew Callahan, college football legend and all around golden guy. He’s beautiful, sweet—and he’s hiding way more secrets than I am. He’s brought me into this fake life where everyone seems to hate me. And everyone seems to want something from him. The only thing he seems to want though is…

Me.

I don’t know what to believe anymore. All I know is, I think Drew needs me. And I want to be there for him.

Forever.

My Thoughts:

5 stars:  Though I saw it coming, this story hit me in the gut and NEEDING the next one!

How do I explain my feelings about this book?  Drew Callahan. Yes let's start with him, shall we.  You know I love to start with the guy, right? You should.

Drew.  From the outside, he looks like he has this perfect life.  Money. Football. Everything.  But Drew is broken.  Secrets haunt his past and control his present.  He throws himself into college and football to keep from feeling anything.  He hasn't really felt anything in a very long time.  Two years to be exact.  Since his sister's death.  What I love about Drew is that while he's this broken, misunderstood guy that's way to hard on himself, he finds his strength, his feelings in Fable.  I truly love the story that has two broken souls holding each other together.  These two broken souls are so perfect for each other but truly feel too broken to be good enough for the other.

Fable is broken from the alcoholic mother that's pretty much left her to raise her younger brother.  Working two jobs just trying to survive, she doesn't feel like anyone really cares about her.  Her reputation as the campus whore earned from her need to feel cared about if only for a while.  She falls for Drew, hard but he could never feel the same or so she thinks.  So hard on herself and so unwilling to risk it, she does her fair share of pushing Drew away just as he does to her.  But these two souls are what the other needs more than anything.  Like air, they need each other and make each other whole.

This story hit me in the gut and literally had me plotting the death (so NOT a pleasant death either) for one of the characters.  I really HATE Adele, Drew's step-mom.  She is all kinds of wrongShe's....I can't even talk about her. I can't stand her.  I will admit to figuring things out pretty quickly but as the details were revealed I was still an emotional mess.

I read this in an afternoon.  I could not put it down.  I tried to put it down to make dinner but ended up talking my husband through the prep work while I sat stuck in this book.  If you read new adult, then you NEED to read this one and soon!  Book two, Second Chance Boyfriend, comes out April 4th.  You must be ready to read it!
