My Thoughts:

3 stars - A love that can't be denied but may not even be real, this one is unique.

This story is very different from the classic young adult love story fare.  It is also different than the paranormal love story tale.  This one didn't have the high school halls drama but instead it took place in the rust bucket that was Fallon's mom's car.  The guy wasn't waiting at her locker after school but following her through the Providences of Canada.  It had some mystery with the dreams Fallon kept having and the secret of who Isaiah was.  There were secrets behind Fallon's father, too, and what really happened when she was four or was it two.

I liked Fallon.  She was devoted to her mom, despite the very untraditional life she gave Fallon.  She's passionate and resourceful.  I liked her relationship with Isaiah.  It wasn't really instant love but more like a homecoming.  I really liked Isaiah.  He's strong and protective.  He's mysterious and controlled.  Might could have done without some of his control but I think there's a reason for it.  They make a great team.  I liked them.

The story itself, while different, frustrated me.  I felt like it never settled into something.  While I appreciate the uniqueness of the story, I wasn't comfortable with it.  I just felt like things were choppy and confusing at times.

It took me a long time to get through this book.  I kept putting it down.  I may have never connected with the characters enough to let the pages flow.  If I hadn't been as busy as I was, I may have had a different experience. Because of that, I want to point out some peeps who really loved this book.  See those links below.

This one is unique.  If you like a love story that really is different, then give this one a try.

  1. hahah following her through canada? That seems awesome! It does sound very different! I know what you mean, sometimes being busy can really make your experience with a book different, which totally sucks! Great review!
