Untouched (Denazen 1.5) by Jus Accardo ~ Review

Source: eBook copy from Publisher in exchange for fair and honest review

Spoilers if you haven't read Touch

My Summary:

Kale has escaped Denazen for now but he can't escape what he is, a six - someone with abnormal abilities - and his is one of the most abnormal abilities. His touch kills, well, except for Dez.  She's the only one he can touch safely and he lives for those touches.  Together, they are looking for other sixes to warn about Denazen.  But when an fun trip to the amusement park ends in a battle with a nightmare from Kale's past, he fears he may have lost Dez for good.  Can Kale defeat the one person who can control him in order to save the one person he loves?

My Thoughts:

4 stars - some fabulous Kale time

This novella has some fabulous Kale time.  I fell in love with Kale in Touched; his innocence and desire to do the right thing despite his wicked abilities made him easy to love.  And then what do I get in Untouched?  Time in Kale's head! It's the very best part of this little tie over until Toxic (Denazen 2). Untouched is from Kale's POV.  (Dez calls time alone with Kale - Kale time).

The majority of the story happens at an amusement park and I loved Kale's reactions to cotton candy, clowns and coasters. Gonna have to read it to find out those reaction.  He goes from this sweet innocent boy trying to understand foreign things like why anyone would think being scared in the fun house is fun into a killing machine in a matter of sentences when the danger appears.  Loved that.  The best scene ever was the obstacle course.  That scene really showed that Kale is very much a guy, a super hot boy with mad skills, but a guy none the less.

This is the third appearance by Untouched on my blog in the last two weeks.  If you missed it, Kale starred as my Teaser Tuesday and my Swoon Thursday last week.  Both little tastes of this book are fabulous.

If you read Touched, then this is a must read.  MUST have our Kale time.  If you haven't started this series, then you absolutely should.

  1. I really do need to start this series soon. I have Touched and Untouched, I just haven't had time to get to them.
