Celebration Character Interview featuring Katelyn from Wishing for Someday Soon

So excited for another Wednesday! That means another Character Interview and GIVEAWAY to celebrate my fabulous followers!!!

Today, I have Katelyn from Wishing for Someday Soon.

Hey, Katelyn.  Thanks for talking to me today.  I thought we’d meet at the school, seems like a safe place to talk.

You like Montana much?

Yes I like it very much, though the cold temperatures have been a little rough on us, but I’ve heard from a reliable source that the summers are splendid here.

Things have been really hard for you.  How do you keep going?

When something has been a part of your life for as long as you can remember it makes it seem perfectly normal. Only rarely have I stood back and questioned how abnormal our life is. Usually, I’m just focused on making it through each day and making sure Kevin has what he needs.

Your brother and you are pretty close.  What’s the best thing about him?

LOL, I could name a million things, but if I had to narrow it down, I would have to say his compassionate and kindhearted nature. He is a gem in a mountain of rubble.

If you could choose any dinner in the world that you wanted to have, what would it be?

Ha-ha-ha, it would have to be a steak dinner. I don’t have any exotic tastes or anything. Believe it or not, I just recently went to my first really fancy restaurant when Max took me. I had never heard of half the stuff on the menu, but I absolutely loved every aspect of the meal. The salad was delicious and the steak and baked potato tasted divine.
Tell us something we won’t learn about you in the book?

Bugs scare the crap out of me, doesn’t matter what kind. It’s unfortunate too because we always seem to end up in these run down places that are filled with the worst kind of bugs imaginable.

What about Kevin, what’s something about him that we won’t learn in the book?

I think the biggest thing that you miss about Kevin from the book is how contagious his belly laughs can be. When he gets tickled over something he has the greatest laugh I’ve ever heard. It’s contagious and you can’t help but laugh with him.

What did you notice first about Max when you met him?

He-he-he, I guess I should say his eyes or something like that, but it was those dang dimples. I was sunk the very first moment he smiled at me.

What’s your favorite thing about him now?

The unconditional way he accepted me without any judgment or ridicule. He makes me feel like I matter. His family has more money than I can even imagine, but you would never know it, he is very grounded. And he is great with Kevin.
If you could go anywhere, do anything on a date with Max, what would you choose?

I would go on an actual vacation with him, which coincidentally, we will be doing in a few weeks. His parents are taking all of us to Orlando for a family vacation. Kevin is flipping out about being able to go to Harry Potter World. He’s been a huge fan since we started the books together.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be and what would you do with it?

It used to be invisibility, but now I think I would want to be super intelligent or have a photographic memory. I’m psyched to be going to college in the fall, which is something I never thought would be in my future. Having a “super brain” would definitely make it easier. This is Kevin’s specialty anyway. I’m sure he could tell you exactly what powers he would have and what evil villain he would defeat.

Randomness:

M&M or skittles? M&M’s hands down.
Burger or steak? LOL, I could eat a burger every day.
Mountains or ocean? He-he-he. It used to be the ocean, but a certain dimpled hunk has shown me the appeal of the mountains.
Day or night?  I prefer the night, everything just looks a little less harsh at night.
Brown or Blue eyes? Brown ;)
Blond or brown hair? He-he-he brown again.
Favorite Book? The Outsiders.
Favorite food? French fries with ketchup.

Katelyn, thanks for talking to me today.  I loved your story and I wish you all the best.  Now I’m off to check out this school.  I’m a math teacher and I will definitely have an opinion of this one.

  1. I work at a high school, and hate the thought of students going through what Katelyn goes through. I haven't read the book yet, but the summary and your review has really made me want to read it. I'm hoping it has a good ending... Thanks for these giveaways, I'm excited!

  8. I actually got this book in print already (don't worry- just entering the Kindle edition giveaway even though I'm of U.S.). I really, really liked Katelyn. She has a strong will and cares more about her brother than I thought was possible. Her struggles were so realistic. I think that she is a fantastic character :D
    Thanks for both giveaways!

  9. Awwwwww thanks guys ;) It was tough to have people read the bad stuff about my life but it was worth it, if even one person reads it and realizes they're not alone. And yes Max and his dimples are perfectly dreamy without sounding to cliche ;) Thanks again for giving a girl from nowhere a chance.
