Adult romance- 18+ for sure!

Summary from Goodreads:

Sure, opposites attract, but in this sexy, smart, eBook original romance from Ruthie Knox, they positively combust! When a buttoned-up banker falls for a bad girl, “about last night” is just the beginning.

Cath Talarico knows a mistake when she makes it, and God knows she’s made her share. So many, in fact, that this Chicago girl knows London is her last, best shot at starting over. But bad habits are hard to break, and soon Cath finds herself back where she has vowed never to go . . . in the bed of a man who is all kinds of wrong: too rich, too classy, too uptight for a free-spirited troublemaker like her.

Nev Chamberlain feels trapped and miserable in his family’s banking empire. But beneath his pinstripes is an artist and bohemian struggling to break free and lose control. Mary Catherine—even her name turns him on—with her tattoos, her secrets, and her gamine, sex-starved body, unleashes all kinds of fantasies.

When blue blood mixes with bad blood, can a couple that is definitely wrong for each other ever be perfectly right? And with a little luck and a lot of love, can they make last night last a lifetime?

My Thoughts:

4 stars - Scorching HAWT with a few laughs

Let me start by saying that this book is much more erotic than things I normally read.  Not really sure that's my thing.  So my review will be about the story line.

I can't help but be drawn to stories where the relationship is impossible.  That's a classic set-up for any romance.  Ruthie does a great job of taking that and making it fresh.  Maybe it was the London setting and Nev's wonderful accent or the story with the tattoos but blue blood meets bad girl definitely rocked this tale.

I loved Nev and I really enjoyed the parts from his POV.  An artist and a gentleman, there's a lot of love about this guy besides his rock hard chest.  I will admit that I was a little taken back with his initial forwardness with Cath but I quickly got over it.  He made some mistakes but I loved how he tried to fix them.

Cath was a puzzle to me.  We learn over the course of the book bits and pieces of her troubled past.  She's not real good with choices but she sells herself short a lot of the time.  I grew to respect her.

The story was fast paced and scorching hott!  Saw some of it coming but the ending made me cry - in a good way.

If you like the adult romance reads with a healthy dose of erotica then this is great choice.

  1. I really want to read that book now. :)

  2. This sounds like a good book. I like a bit of steaminess, but I don't think I have read anything really heavy on the erotica stuff. Thanks for the fab review.

  3. After that "excerpt" you posted a little while back, I've wanted to read this one. It's great to see that you really enjoyed it!

  4. This looks like a really good book. I am a hopeless romantic myself so I really tend to fall in love in stories like this.

  5. LOL I would probably love it! I do read some erotica, but I have to have a story line too. I don't like to read all about smexy. Glad you liked it!
